Why You Must Visit Quebec
One country that I would love to visit is Quebec, Canada, and here are some reasons why.
For entertainment, you can take a walking tour of the old Quebec City. Did you know that the city of Quebec is the oldest city in Canada? An explorer founded the city of Quebec in 1608 on July 3. You can also gaze at the Montmorency Falls. The Montmorency Falls is 272 feet tall and 100 feet taller than Niagara Falls, which is 167 feet tall. You can also have a picnic at the plains of Abraham, which used to be a battle site in 1759. Now, the Plains of Abraham is a giant urban park enjoyed by people who live there and tourists who visit.
If you’re tired of being outside, then go enjoy the giant art museum. People who love art will want to spend a few hours visiting the Musee National des Beaux-arts de Quebec (National Fine Arts Museum of Quebec.) It holds more than 40,000 works from the 17th century to today. I love looking at artworks, and when I go there, I would love to spend half a day enjoying what the museum holds.
I love hiking with my family, so I would probably want to walk the trail in Jacques-Cartier National Park with my family. Jacques-Cartier National Park is a gorgeous valley split into two by an excellent river. There are more than 60 miles of trails to walk, trail run, or whatever you choose. While the park is beautiful year-round, it is incredibly gorgeous at the end of September and the beginning of October because the trees are just beginning to change color.
The best part is that you could sleep in an ice hotel! You heard me correctly; you could sleep in an ice hotel. It is built with 2,300 blocks of ice and 15,000 tons of snow! Now that’s a lot of ice and snow. The temperature of the rooms stays around 23 degrees Fahrenheit even when it’s 22 degrees Fahrenheit outside. Now that’s unbelievable! Another advantage is that guests can warm up in hot tubs, saunas, insulating sheets, and arctic-grade sleeping bags. While there, you should hop over to the ice skating paths and giant snow slides for a genuine, authentic, and epic Canadian adventure.
Now, if you’re a fan of playing sports and don’t know what to do sport-wise, then don’t worry because I have just what you need.
The most popular sports in Quebec are ice hockey (and Quebec is known for making ice hockey a very popular sport in Canada) and Canadian football. Some popular summer sports include rock climbing, canoeing, swimming, fishing, hiking, and golf. Some other popular Quebec activities include soccer, Australian rules football, boxing, baseball, and one of my favorites, basketball.
Some of the most popular foods in Quebec include:
Poutine is a dish made of cheese curds, french fries, and brown gravy.
Tourtière is a traditional meat pie made with minced pork or beef, spices, and a pie crust. It is usually eaten on Christmas Eve or during New YYear’s
Crêpes are thin paper-like pancakes that can be made sweet or savory.
Tire sur la neige is a dilousish dessert made by rolling boiling maple sap over ice or snow over a stick.
Those many reasons, including entertainment, popular sports, and popular foods, are just some of the reasons why I want to visit Quebec, Canada, and why you should visit there, too.
