Some of the things that I learned from the 7th-grade English class in Ron Paul include a lot of things, including the three forms of literature and different types of authors’ writing styles. I also learned more about genres, and I was also introduced to some older types of writing, including some plays by William Shakespeare. I also learned how to write a short story better, as well as learning how to write poems better.
I got to learn more about the three forms of literature, and what they are. Learning about the three forms of literature was one of the things that I enjoyed about the class, and that was one of the topics that I understood the best.
I got to see what some different types of authors’ writing styles were, and are. I got to compare Jack London’s writing to G. A. Henty’s style of writing, and when I compared the two, I was surprised by how different the two styles of writing are.
During this year of class, I got introduced to some older styles of writing, including some of the plays by William Shakespeare, like Macbeth and The Taming of the Shrew. This part of the class was much harder for me this year. I had a hard time understanding what the author was trying to portray in the writing, and that made me very frustrated, and when I’m frustrated, I don’t enjoy what I’m doing.
I also got to know what the different types of genres there are, and I can now see what types of genres that I like the best, and what different types of genres different types of authors like to write about the best.
I now know how to write a poem even better than I used to, and I also know what different styles of poetry there are, and I can see a lot of different types of poetry now because I know what to look for when reading different types of literature.
I also learned how to write a short story, and all of the different types of what gets included in a short story.
During this year of 7th-grade English, I learned a lot about different types of writing, and I got to see what some different types of authors’ styles there are. I enjoyed this year of English, but there were some things that I really disliked about this year as well.
