A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court

The setting for the book, A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, by Mark Twain, takes place in the 6th century. It is about a man named Hank Morgan, who traveled from the 19th century to the 6th century. He has no idea what he is doing there, and he is still in his 19th-century clothing. Everyone who is living in the 6th century thinks that he is very weird, and Hank feels the same way about everybody there.

There are multiple different moods in the story, and some of them are as follows: calm, stressful, sad, and happy. In the book, there was an impressive visualization, so well that I was able to see the entire story in my head. While I was reading the book, it was like there was a movie playing in my head. It had great imagery.

The customs in the book are so much different than the customs in our lives now, for example, the clothing. Back then, they used to wear armor and ride horses all the time for their daily lives, because they had no cars, buses, trains, or airplanes. They only had their feet and horses for transportation. They also had Kings and Queens, and in 2025, we have Presidents (at least in the United States of America). Our clothing is not armor, and I believe that our clothing is so much more comfortable.

The dialogue of the characters was pretty good. It helped me visualize the characters more clearly in my mind, and it also helped me learn more about them.

Sometimes, while reading the book, the tone became confusing because I would sometimes not know who was speaking. Sometimes I wouldn’t know who was who, and that made reading and understanding the storyline a bit challenging.

Overall, the setting of A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court, I thought, was decent, and I enjoyed reading the book. I also enjoyed the conclusion of the story. It was also my favorite part of the book. It was so sweet, and I really enjoy happy endings.
