From reading some of Jack London’s books, I can tell that he genuinely enjoyed writing about dogs, their lives with humans, and their interactions with nature, as well as how they can thrive in it. The two books I have read by him are about dogs, their owners, nature, and survival. The titles are “The Call of the Wild” and “White Fang,” both written by Jack London. Most of his books focus on themes like struggle, survival, and the power of nature. When he wrote, he really enjoyed getting into a lot of detail when writing.
Something I have noticed while reading some of Jack London’s books is that he tends to include a lot of detail in his writing. When he starts describing a scene, the first thing he likes to do is introduce the setting of the scene. Then he goes into detail and tends to stay highly descriptive for a couple of pages, describing the scene in great detail. When I read his books, that is something I really enjoy about them, but sometimes I think that there is just a little too much detail.
What I’ve noticed from reading Jack London’s books compared to G. A. Henty’s books is that G. A. Henty writes a lot of historical fiction books, and Jack London writes a lot of nature and survival stories. In my opinion, I prefer reading about nature and survival stories, simply because I enjoy them more than I enjoy G. A. Henty’s books. Fiction books are my favorite genre to read. They’re just more appealing to me.
